Celebrating Canada 150 in Birch Bay & Birch Meadows

 

Celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday on Saturday, July 1st with these fun activities:

Canada 150 Parade

Parade participants meet on Sunset Drive southbound at Pine Crescent before the parade starts at 10.30 am sharp.

  • Canada 150 theme
  • Quads, bikes, golf carts, lawn mowers, anything else that moves!
  • Best dressed pets
  • Parade will wind through Birch Bay & Birch Meadows and  terminate at the beach

Canada Day Picnic

Immediately after the parade, bring your family, picnic lunch, beverages, chairs, blankets etc. to the donut. Enjoy a picnic lunch with our community, then enjoy your afternoon on the beach, on the lake, or wherever you wish

Canada 150 Legacy Presentation

Special Canada 150 legacy presentation, 2PM at the beach donut.

Canada Day Fireworks

  • 11 PM at the beach
  • Barbecued hot dogs provided
  • Bring your own beverages

St. Cyr Family 40th Anniversary at Birch Bay Party June 10th!

The whole community is invited to help celebrate!

40 years ago young Denis & Annette St.Cyr came to Birch Bay and proceeded to build a cabin and create new memories. Forty years, 3 children, and 4 grandchildren later, Annette and her family are celebrating years of fun family and community times, and the whole community is invited to help celebrate!

All events held at St. Cyr’s, 317 Pine Cr.

Children’s Puppet Making Workshop

Val Hilliker (comedy ventriloquist) is presenting a puppet making workshop for children of all ages Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 3 to 5 pm at St. Cyr’s. Everyone participating will get an opportunity to create their own fish puppet and be invited to assist Val with a puppet show number at the beginning of the evening concert.

Please pre-register the number of individuals who will want to
make their own puppets so that we can arrange for the supplies.

Family Dance

A family dance party will run concurrently with the Puppet workshop for 3 to 5 pm.

Open Yard Concert – 7:30PM

Featuring:

  • Glen Hill and his Country Cousins (classic country music)
  • Val Hilliker (Canadian comedy ventriloquist)Bring your lawn chairs and preferred refreshments and snacks.

Donations will be appreciated in support of our entertainers.

Possible Amalgamation For Rimbey Co-op: Meeting April 26th

Meeting Wednesday, April 26, 7 PM, Peter Lougheed Community Centre Rimbey

Members of our Rimbey Co-op and the Rocky Mountain House Co-op will meet this week to discuss and vote on a proposal to amalgamate the two Co-operatives.  If approved, the new Evergreen Co-opertive Association would serve over 15000 members from 12 locations and have sales of $95 Million annually.
